Delmar L. Dell

Delmar L. Dell, 77, of Poplar Bluff, formerly of St. Charles, Ill., passed away Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2008 at Mark Twain Caring Center, in Poplar Bluff.

Mr. Dell was born May 11, 1930, in Corning, Ark. He was a veteran of the United States Navy having served aboard the USS Antietam, and had retired as a heavy construction supervisor specializing in bridges and large concrete structures. Mr. Dell was a member of the Fraternal Order of Moose, in St. Charles, Ill., and the American Legion, in Poplar Bluff. He was a loving husband and father who enjoyed spending time with his family.

Mildred, his wife of 57 years survives.

Other survivors include his daughter, Sharon Hallead and husband Ron, of Huntley, Ill.; sons, Tim Dell and wife Jacki and Rick Dell, all of St. Charles, Ill.; 6 grandchildren, Cassandra Bohlin and husband Greg, Nancy Starr and husband Geoff and Austin, Dallas, Carter and Payton Dell; and 4 great-grandchildren, Hunter and MacKenzie Star and Dalton and Sydney Bohlin.

His parents, John and Grace Dell, son, Michael Lynn Dell, sisters, Viola Goodman and Juanita Washburn and brothers, John Dell and Vernon ""Jack"" Dell preceded him in death.

Visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m. Friday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel, in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Chapel with the Rev. James Schremp officiating. Burial with full military honors will be at the City Cemetery, in Poplar Bluff.
