Deidre Sue (Hackworth) Hughes

Deidre Sue (Hackworth) Hughes, 53, of Poplar Bluff, MO, passed away Friday, April 14, 2023, at St. Mary's Hospital in Richmond Heights, Missouri.

Deidre was born on September 30, 1969, to Marvin and Linda (Thornburgh) Hackworth in Poplar Bluff. She married James Leroy Hughes on October 27, 1990, also in Poplar Bluff.

Deidre had a great sense of humor and was described as "something else" by her family and friends. She enjoyed spending time outdoors, going to the lake, listening to music, and traveling. Deidre liked to read, especially her Stephen King novels. She also enjoyed her feline companions throughout the years. In her later years she recommitted her life to Christ. She was a sweet and kind soul, who will be missed by many.

Deidre is survived by two daughters, Deandra, and Danielle Hughes; one son, Derek Hughes; two brothers, Eric & Darin Hackworth; along with numerous close friends whom she considered family.

Deidre was preceded by in death by her parents and husband.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 18, 2023, from 6:00-8:00pm at Cotrell Willow Ridge Funeral & Cremation Services. Funeral service will follow on Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at 10:00am. Burial will take place at Flatwoods Cemetery near Piedmont, Missouri.
