David M. Thorne, Sr., 63, of Dupo, Ill., formerly of Poplar Bluff, died Monday, July 17, 2006 at his residence.
Mr. Thorne born March 29, 1943, in Poplar Bluff. He was a retired conductor for the Union Pacific Railroad with 37 years of service and a member of the United Transportation Union 1402. Mr. Thorne was also a driver for Renzenberger and a veteran of the United States Army, having served from 1961-1967.
Survivors include his wife Jane (Francis) Thorne, of Dupo; a daughter, Kim Pace and husband Michael, of Millstadt, Ill.; two sons, Gary Edwards and David M. Thorne, Jr. and wife Jennifer, all of Dupo; two grandchildren, Carrie Lindsay and Dorian Thorne; a great-grandson, Dylan Lindsay; as well as a brother-in-law, sisters-in law and many nieces, nephews and friends.
His parents George W. and Alice Jane (Bass) Thorne, two sisters, Mable Brower and Barbara Young and two brothers, Tommy Thorne and Charles Thorne, preceded him in death.
