Curtis Lee Rush

Curtis Lee Rush, 76 years old, of Poplar Bluff, MO passed away on Saturday, June 24, 2023.

Curtis was born on December 3, 1946 in East St. Louis, IL. He was the fourth of eleven children born to Cecil and Mary Irene Rush.

Curtis attended Corning High School in Corning, AR. After graduating in 1965, he was then drafted into the Army a year later. Curtis was a demolition and explosives specialist while serving in the Vietnam War.

After serving his country, Curtis would eventually go on to make a career with the school district of Poplar Bluff as a bus driver, where he later retired.

In retirement, he enjoyed working on lawn mowers and cars. He also enjoyed playing pool, and loved spending time with friends and family.

Curtis was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil Thomas and Mary Irene Rush. His Brother’s, Lon Ray Rush, Donnie Rush, Jouel Cecil Rush, and

Richard Rush, and his sister Mary Laverne David.

He is survived by his siblings, Thomas (Barbara) Rush of Paragould, AR,  Floyd (Judy) Rush of Corning, AR , Gloria Jean Rush of Qulin, MO, Colene Jackson of Poplar Bluff, MO, Melissa Rush of Hot Springs, AR; and an abundance of nieces, nephews; great-nieces; and great-great nephews.

Visitation will be held on Monday, July 3, 2023, from 9:30-10:30 am at Cotrell Willow Ridge Funeral & Cremation Services. Funeral services will immediately follow at 10:30 am.  Burial will take place at Bloomfield Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, MO with full Military Honors.
