Corene Josephine (Noles) Gunn Becker

Corene J. Noles Gunn Becker, 85, of Poplar Bluff, MO, moved to her heavenly home on Monday morning, January 30, 2023.

Corene was born on February 4, 1937, to the late Claude Noles and Cora Noles Wolverton in Etowah, Arkansas. She married her late husband, Kenneth Becker in 1982.

Corene was a Godly woman, who loved the Lord and her family with all her heart. She always strived to set a good example for all her children and grandchildren. Corene was a humble and gentle woman. Heaven only knows the eternal impact her prayers had on those around her. She was a long time Sunday school teacher and nurturer of children. She was an excellent cook and quilter, but her art was crocheting.

Corene is survived by her daughters, Kim Gunn (Barry) Gernstetter of Freeport, FL and Cheryl Gunn (Alan) Buttry of Poplar Bluff; one half-sister, Alda Grey of St. Charles, MO; six grandchildren, Michelle Clark (Joseph) Massey of Poplar Bluff, Joseph Clark of Poplar Bluff, Amy Gernstetter (Michael) Stanton of Santa Rosa Beach, FL, Jessica Gernstetter (Willam) Hanson of Delray Beach, FL, Robert Clark of Poplar Bluff, and Kathryn Gernstetter (Bryan) Hickman of Freeport, FL; fifteen great-grandchildren, Abby Hanson, Wesley Gernstetter, Jacob Stanton, Ashton Clark, Keiley Hickman, Madeline Stanton, William Hanson, Gracie Massey, Kenzie Clark, Samuel Massey, Benjamin Hanson, Chase Stanton, Lilly Massey, Kennedy Clark, and Maeley Hickman; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

In addition to her parents and husband, Corene is preceded in death by three sisters, Dorothy Noles, Claudean May, and Ruby Sweet; two brothers, William, and Harvey Noles; her son, Eugene Gunn.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 7, 2023, from 1:00-2:00pm at Cotrell Willow Ridge Funeral & Cremation Services in Poplar Bluff, MO. Private, family only graveside will follow at the City Cemetery.

Flowers are welcome or memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
