Cody Thomas Coonce

Cody Thomas Coonce, 18, of Gatewood, son of Sherry Koons Lansford, of Poplar Bluff and Thomas C. Coonce, of Gatewood, died Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2007, in St. Joseph, Mo.

Cody was born July 4, 1989, in Pocahontas, Ark. He was of the Baptist faith, and worked for Herzog Railroad Contracting Co. Cody enjoyed spending time with his family, hanging out with friends, music, cars, hunting and fishing.

In addition to his parents, Cody is survives by two sisters, Amanda Hambrick, of Poplar Bluff and Logan Linley, of Corpus Christie, Tex.; brother, Bryan Hambrick., of Poplar Bluff; grandparents, Floyd Koons, of Biggers, Ark., Beulah Coonce, of Gatewood and Glen Meridith, of Maynard, Ark.; great-grandparents, Earnestine and Luther McMillen, of Biggers, Ark.; aunts and uncles, Carolyn and Keith Leroux, of Gatewood, Joyce and Larry Redus, of Couch, Brandi and Sammy Koons, of West Memphis, Ark. Anita and Terry Meridith, of Sherwood, Ark., and Kelly Gifford, of Poplar Bluff.

Cody was preceded in death by his grandmother, Joann Koons and grandfather, Thomas Coonce, Sr.

Visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m. Friday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel, in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church, in Poplar Bluff with the Rev. Doug Osborn and the Rev. Roger Hovis officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Gardens Cemetery, in Poplar Bluff.
