Clifford C. Fredwell

January 31, 1923 — May 4, 2007

Clifford C. Fredwell, 84, died Friday, May 4, 2007 at the John J. Pershing VA Medical Center. Mr. Fredwell was born January 31, 1923 in Bloomfield to the late Benjamin and Cora (Hester) Fredwell. He owned and operated the Clifford Fredwell Auto Sales for 57 years. Mr. Fredwell was a member of the First Christian Church and the Mens Bible Class for over 50 years. He was one of the classes' teachers for more than 30 years. He was an active class member until health problems limited his attendance. Each 5th Sunday the class sings a special musical number during worship service. It is much enjoyed by the congregation. This was Clifford's idea. He will be missed by the congregation and his class members. He was a veteran of the Army having served during WWII and was a member of the Amvets Post 115.

On March 9, 2001 he was married to Gail Lourance in Piggott, Ark. She survives.

Also surviving are 3 children, Barbara Stepp of Poplar Bluff; Angela McGrail and husband Sean of Wentzville; and David Propst of Festus; 5 grandchildren and several great grandchildren; one brother, Bill Jines of Enid, Okla.; and one sister Maude Dotson of Poplar Bluff. Mr. Fredwell was preceded in death by one son, Earl Fredwell; 5 brothers, Walter Fredwell, Roy Fredwell, Connie Fredwell, Floyd Fredwell, Orvel ""Butch"" Fredwell and one sister Opal Fredwell.

Visitation will be at 6:00 - 8:00 Monday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel. The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday at the funeral home chapel with Mr. Bill Jines officiating. Burial will be in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
