Clara May Scofield, 89, of Poplar Bluff died Saturday, Feb. 10, 2007 at the Cedargate Care Center, in Poplar Bluff.
Mrs. Scofield was born March 31, 1917, in Poplar Bluff. She was a member of the First Church of God and a homemaker. During her earlier years, she managed the 67 Package and Sporting Goods Store for 12 years. Mrs. Scofield enjoyed spending time with her family, being outside and gardening.
Her husband Clarence Mack preceded her in death in 1935. On July 16, 1936, she married George William Scofield, in Poplar Bluff. He preceded her in death on April 26, 1988.
Survivors include five daughters Geraldine McMullen and Betty Lade, both of St. Charles, Shirley Robertson, and Linda Strickland, both of Poplar Bluff and Juanita L. May, of Imperial; 13 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren; her sister, Wilma Hendrickson, of Irving, Tex.; and her brother, Sam Sallee, of Crestwood, Mo.
Visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m. Tuesday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel, in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Wappapello Cotrell Funeral Chapel with the Rev Richard Triplett officiating. Burial will be in Little Brushy Cemetery, at Wappapello.
