Chester “Chet” Beaty, 86, of Poplar Bluff passed away Monday, February 15, 2021 at Clark’s Mountain Nursing Home.
Chester was born November 4, 1934 to Chester Virgil and Mamie Ruth Noldge Beaty in Chaonia, MO. He and Sandra Morris were married September of 1956. He later married Patty Spencer, she preceded him in death on July 17, 2007. Chester married Barbara Davis September 3, 2010. She survives.
Chester worked at Gamblin Lumber Company for many years until retirement. He was a Sunday school teacher, church choir member and drove the church van. He also performed all over town with various bands entertaining others.
Chester played the guitar and mandolin and enjoyed singing. He also, enjoyed woodworking, gardening, jigsaw puzzles, playing cards, and watching westerns (and John Wayne could do NO wrong).
Chester had a personality that was bigger than life and he was loved by everyone. He loved to joke around, share his sharp wit and he had a huge sense of humor.
Chester is survived by five children; Becky Beaty Shunk (Daniel Brown), Edward Wayne Blackwell, Lisa Beaty (Lee Tyree), Diana Frazier (Jeremy Frazier) and Vernon Davis (Carolyn Davis); two grandchildren, Nicole Price and Autumn Albert (Bobby); and four great-grandchildren, Kaleb and Connor Albert, Joshua Price, and Cory “CJ” Little.
