Charles "Steve" Steven Wisdom

Charles Steven Wisdom, an amazing husband, father, MyPa, and friend to everyone, passed at the young age of 63 at his home of over 38 years in Poplar Bluff, Missouri on Sunday, December 18, 2022.  Steve was a true friend to all he came in contact with, he knew no strangers.

Steve was born in Poplar Bluff, Missouri on December 26, 1958.  The only son of Charles William Wisdom and Minnie Mae Fulton.  A little brother to Lynette and Lisa Marie Wisdom and daredevil to all life's challenges.  Whether a motorbike or new business venture, Steve set out to show that all was possible.  It wasn't until he met Sheila Sue Moore as a teenager that he knew he'd found the love of his life.  Married on June 12, 1977 at her parents residence in Poplar Bluff, it was a romance that lasted more than forty-five years.  Like their love, hosting exchange students brought much joy to their life as was the case with Kar Lai, a host daughter that remains close today.  Although he had no more than a high school education, Steve went on to own many businesses and had great successes as a start-up entrepreneur.  He had an infectious personality, work ethic, and sense of humor that drew everyone.  He was an avid traveler, a constant foodie with a passion for BBQ and Mexican, and an ardent, but not professional keno player.

Steve is survived by his loving wife; Sheila, one daughter; Shelli, one son; Steven, one grandson; Charlie and sister; Lisa all of Poplar Bluff and one daughter-in-law Barbara of Cleveland.

Showing of Love Services will be held on Thursday, December 22, 2022 at Cotrell Willow Ridge Funeral Home.  Family viewing will be from 1:00-1:30 and friends and community viewing from 1:30-3:00.  Memorial service to begin at 3:00.  Please call (573) 785-1200 for more information.
