Charles M. Spencer, 69, died Sunday January 7, 2007 at St. Francis Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born March 23, 1937 in Neelyville to Hulen and Daisy (Mansker) Spencer. Mr. Spencer was a 1955 graduate of Poplar Bluff High School and the University of Missouri (Columbia) in 1960 with a degree in Business Administration. He served in the US Army Reserves, and worked for many years at Clarke Company in Muskegon, Michigan. Mr. Spencer returned to Missouri in 1997 to live.
Mr. Spencer enjoyed reading and walks with his dog Rocky at Markham Springs.
In 1964 he married Gwen Gaines in Muskegon. She preceded him in death.
Survivors include his adopted son Michael Spencer; one sister Laura Clark and her husband Jack of Poplar Bluff; one brother Dr. James S. Spencer of Seattle, Washington; and six nieces and nephews.
Mr. Spencer was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Tom Spencer in 2005, and his sister-in-law Claire Spencer in 2000.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 12th at the City Cemetery with the Rev. Catherine Bryant officiating.
