Charles Wayne Fisher

Charles ""Wayne"" Fisher, 65, of Poplar Bluff died Monday, June 19, 2006 at the Mark Twain Caring Center, in Poplar Bluff after a lengthy illness.

Mr. Fisher was born March 2, 1941, in Poplar Bluff to Helen Bee (Doty) Fisher and the late Charles Edward Fisher. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, in Poplar Bluff and a salesman and contractor of log homes. Mr. Fisher enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and watching the Cardinals play baseball.

On June 19, 1960, he married Judy Love, in Poplar Bluff. She survives.

Other survivors include five daughters, Tamera G. Fisher, Lisa Ann Carda, Terri Michelle Stroder and Misti Lynn Lambert, all of Poplar Bluff and Laura Jo Fisher, of Nashville; one son, Ryan Lee Davis, of Poplar Bluff; his mother and stepfather Helen and Charles Smith, of Poplar Bluff; a special friend who was like a brother, Carroll Harwell, of Poplar Bluff; 15 grandchildren, Jason Hall, Jerrad Roehrs, Brett Hall, Brooke Carda, Kirstie Carda, Kory Carda, Spencer Carda, Landen Fisher, Brax Fisher, Alexis Tipton, Blake Stroder, Collin Lambert, Matthew Lambert, Joshua Lambert, and Serena Davis; 4 great-grandchildren, McKenzie Hall, Kadyn Hall, Skylen Roehrs and Brooklyn Hall; 6 sisters, Linda Kay Gilmore, Karen S. Gutierrez, Mary Dille and Cindy G. Benson, all of Poplar Bluff, Sandra Rhea Thomas, of Wappapello and Diana Lynn Wadlington, of Scott City; a special aunt and uncle, George and Shirley Doty; and another special friend, Greg Nagy, of Poplar Bluff.

A sister, Janice Riels preceded Mr. Fisher in death.

The visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m. Wednesday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel, in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the First United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Kurt Schuermann officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Gardens Cemetery, in Poplar Bluff.
