Cecil “Ray” Lewis, 75, of Poplar Bluff, MO passed away Monday, October 12, 2020 at University Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.
Cecil was born on February 23, 1945 to Cecil Lewis and Ruby Brett in Poplar Bluff. He married Joan Montgomery on June 11, 1966.
Cecil was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Poplar Bluff. He was an avid bow maker and loved to hunt and fish. He worked as a mechanic at Archie's gas station for many years before going to work for Union Pacific Railroad in which he retired after 35 years.
Cecil is survived by his wife Joan; one son, Bennie (Kim) Lewis of Poplar Bluff; one sister, Sharon (Walter) Greer of Arkansas; one brother, Walter (Annis) Lewis of Alabama; five grandchildren, Kyle (Meagan) Lewis, Courtney (Caleb) Ryman, Jackie Lewis, Emileigh Lewis, Emma Lewis; two great-grandchildren, Hunter Lane Lewis and Catney Ryla Ryman; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Cecil was preceded by his parents, Cecil and Ruby; and one sister, Shirley (Poncho) Aquino.
Graveside service will be held at 1:30PM on Thursday, October 15, 2020 at Woodlawn Cemetery in Poplar Bluff, MO with officiating by Reverend Rocky Hopper.
