Carson W. Seawel, 83, of Harviell, died Saturday, December 22, 2007 at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. Mr. Seawel was born August 28, 1924 in Blodgett, Mo. to the late Waldo and Leoder (Edwards) Seawel. He was retired from the John Deere Company in Waterloo, Iowa as a pattern maker. Mr. Seawel was a member and Deacon of the Pilgrim's Rest Church in Fairdealing and enjoyed woodworking, gardening, and making stained glass projects. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
On June 26, 1948 he married Zila Rich in St. Louis and she preceded him in death on April 21, 2003.
Surviving is one daughter, Karen Seawel of Tarpon Springs, Fla., two sons, Brent Seawel and wife Judy of Poplar Bluff and Dave Seawel and wife Lori of Cedar Falls, Iowa; seven grandchildren, Christie Browne and husband Richard, Carrie Stone, Sarah Seawel, Dan Seawel and wife Julie, Brandon Seawel, Jessi Seawel, and Taylor Seawel; five great grandchildren, Emmaleigh Stone, Carson Browne, Avery Browne, Richie Browne, and Ailee Seawel; two sisters, Elfreeda Wilson of Ste. Genevieve, Mo., Sue Stephens of Mesa, Ariz.; and one brother, Gale Hurst and wife Gloria of Hawthorne, Calif.
Preceding Mr. Seawel in death were two sons, Stan Seawel and Jimmy Seawel, two sisters, Almeda Bush and Imogene Dickerson and three brothers, Doyle Seawel, Lee Hurst and Elga Hurst.
Visitation will be at 5:00 - 7:00 P.M. Sunday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. Funeral services will be at 1:00 P.M., Monday at Pilgrim's Rest Church in Fairdealing with Pastor Brent Seawel officiating. Graveside services and burial with full military honors will be at 11:30 A.M., Wednesday at Memorial Park Cemetery Chapel, 5200 Lucas & Hunt Road in St. Louis, Mo
