Carolyn Lee (Warren) Smith

Carolyn Lee Smith, 67, of Poplar Bluff, MO passed away Thursday, July 28, 2022, at her home.

Carolyn was born on September 25, 1954, to Junior and Freda (O’Dell) Warren in Poplar Bluff. She married Louie Smith on February 25, 1978, in Dexter, Missouri.

Carolyn was raised in Clarkton, Missouri and was a proud member of the community. She was an educator for the Poplar Bluff School District for over 30 years, specializing in special education for elementary and junior high. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan. She liked reading, writing, photography, caring for Amy, and spending time with grandbabies. She was a good listener and caring friend to many. Carolyn was also known for her quick wit and funny puns.

Carolyn is survived by her mother, Freda Warren; one daughter, Amy Smith of Poplar Bluff; two sons, Louis D (Karla) Smith III of Henderson, Nevada, and Chris Smith of Poplar Bluff; three grandchildren, Spencer, Aubrey, and Sadie Lou Smith; one sister, Kay (Mike) Redman of Holcomb, MO; along with numerous extended family and friends.

Carolyn was preceded by her father and husband.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 03, 2022, from 1:00-2:00pm at Cotrell Willow Ridge Funeral & Cremation Services. Funeral will follow, beginning at 2:00pm. Burial will take place at Dexter City Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest next to her father and husband.
