Carolyn Sue (Medling) Shelton

Carolyn Sue Shelton, 79, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri passed away Tuesday, February 8, 2022, at St Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.

Carolyn was born November 7, 1942, to Carl and Otis McMurtry Medling in Naylor, Missouri. She married Donald Dawson Shelton on July 3, 1959, in E. St. Louis, Illinois.

Carolyn was an avid bingo player. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed having fellowship with her church family at Grace Christian Fellowship and spreading the Love of Christ.

Carolyn is survived by three sons, Donald (Debbie) Shelton of Poplar Bluff, Michael (Dena) Shelton of Jackson, Missouri, and Scott Shelton of Divernon, Illinois; three daughters, Susan Cartwright of Litchfield, Illinois, Cathy Lewis (Chuck Bowers) of Divernon, Illinois, and Lee Ann Tally (Kenny Hill) of Cape Girardeau; one brother, Jerry Medling of Scopus, Missouri and two sisters, June Huson of Poplar Bluff, and Joan Jones of Manchester, Missouri; grandchildren, Jamie (Zac) Moore, Matthew (Teresa) Shelton, Joshua Shelton, Christopher (Katrina ) Shelton, Cassidy Shelton (Xavier Salas), Jacob (Amanda) Shelton, Caitlyn Lewis, Justin (Elizabeth) Lewis, Carley Shelton, Dawson Tally, Luke Tally and Kenzie Hill; great grandchildren, Teagan Kassing, Blair Shelton, Zoey Shelton, Nash Shelton, Josie Shelton, Elizabeth Grace Shelton and Andrew Michael Shelton, Everett Shelton, Payton Shelton, Charolette Lewis, and Zeke Cook; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Carl Medling, Jr.; and sisters, Glenda Medling, Margie Ward, Janet Ramos, Jean Brummett, Patsy Wagner, and Phyllis Spell.

The visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, February 14, 2022, at Cotrell Willow Ridge Funeral Chapel. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Brian Sharp and Pastors Bud and Bonnie Goins officiating. Burial will take place at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
