Carol Jean Schlitt

Carol Jean Schlitt, 71, of Poplar Bluff passed away December 26, 2022.  She was born June 20, 1951 to Robert and Theresa Schlitt.  Carol was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin and friend.

Carol enjoyed watching musical theater at the Muny Opera and Fox Theater in St. Louis.  She was a regular at BINGO for many years and was always up for playing a game of cards with her family and friends.  Much of Carol’s time and energy was devoted to caring for others.

Preceding her in death are her parents, Robert and Theresa Schlitt, and niece, Sarah Lange.

She is survived by her six siblings – Barbara (Gerard) Hoeing of St. Louis, John Schlitt of Poplar Bluff, Linda (Larry) Hurst of Poplar Bluff, Diane (Michael) Hirtz of Glennonville, Mary Schlitt of Poplar Bluff, and Debbie (Chad) Landry of Iwakuni, Japan, as well as 9 nieces and nephews and 7 great nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 – 10:00 AM on Tuesday, January 3 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.  A Rosary prayer service will begin at 10:00 AM with a funeral mass to immediately follow.  Inurnment will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.
