Beverly Karen (Hillis) Smith

Beverly Karen Smith, 62, of Poplar Bluff, MO, passed away Friday, June 16, 2023, at her home.

Beverly was born on January 16, 1961, to Paul and Syble (Wilmoth) Hillis in Aurora, Missouri.

Beverly was a believer of the Lord, Jesus Christ. She appreciated nature and enjoyed spending time outdoors. Beverly liked to go camping, read a good book, and complete various crafting projects. She collected antiques and enjoyed refinishing furniture to bring it back to life. She enjoyed many activities, but by far her greatest joy in this world was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Beverly will truly be missed by her family and friends.

Beverly is survived by her life partner and best friend, Michael Smith; three children, Tonya (Jake) Worley, Tommy (Ronnie) George, and Keelean Pickard; three brothers, David (Sherry) Hillis, Steve (Edna) Hillis, and Timothy (Naphtali) Hillis; eleven grandchildren, Austin, Kate, Hayden, Tyler, Brylee, Alexx, Lucas, River, Reed, Remington, and Ava; one great-grandchild on the way, Oaklynn Marie; along with numerous extended family members and friends.

Beverly was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Cheryl Smith.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, from 11:00am-1:00pm at Cotrell Willow Ridge Funeral & Cremation Services. Funeral service will follow beginning at 1:00pm with Brother David Hillis officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her parents at Chapel Hill Cemetery in Williamsville, MO.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Breast Cancer Association in memory of Beverly’s sister, Cheryl.
