Betty Joe Reid

Betty Joe Reid-Karnes, 89, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri passed away on December 25, 2023, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.
Betty was born on October 2, 1934, to Carl and Thelma Graham in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. She married Robert Reid in 1953, and of this marriage one son was born, Rob Reid.  She later married Jerry Karnes in 1999, and he survives.
Betty was a dedicated nurse for Fred Caldwell at Kneibert Clinic for 35 years. After retiring, Betty and Jerry formed a band called, Black River Express, and with Boone Scott, they traveled around playing in festivals and theaters. She enjoyed listening to St. Louis Cardinals baseball, and playing (cheating) cards with her grandchildren.
Betty is survived by her husband, Jerry; one son, Rob and his wife, Cori; two step daughters, Lisa (Scott) Diecker, and Kim Arbogasta; one step son-in-law, Laferrel Price; nine grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; one sister-in law, Judy (Ralph) Anderson and 2 nephews, Cary and John.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Robert; and step daughter, Cindy Price.
Inurnment will be at a later date.
