Betty Sue (Jaco) Parish

March 16, 1947 — March 30, 2024

Memphis, Tennessee

Betty Sue Parish, 77, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 30, 2024.

Betty was born on March 16, 1947, to E.W. and Flossie (Hearn) Jaco in Blytheville, Arkansas. She married Dale Parish on March 21, 1964, in Osceola, Arkansas.

Betty Sue was a remarkable soul who embraced life with creativity, intelligence, and boundless love. Her dynamic spirit infused many moments with joy and songs, as she nurtured her "babies" with devotion and high hopes for her children. Her humor and silliness brought joy and hours of laughter. She was poetically complex and simple, finding beauty in the smallest details and cherishing the richness of historic furniture and antiques. Although a converted Catholic, Betty still enjoyed a great Protestant revival, and evangelical preacher. Her love for Dale spanned six decades, a love story all witnessed and marveled to see. A testament to the enduring power of true love.

Betty is survived by the love of her life for 60 years, Dale Parish; four children, Kim Thronberry (Donnie Perkins), Lori Vincent (Brian), Steve Parish (Christy), and Courtney Winter (Adam); nine grandchildren, Kristen Browder, Stephanie Atkison (Blake), Tyler Thronberry, Jacob Vincent, Kate Vincent, Justin Parish, Owen Winter, Olivia Winter, and Cannon Winter; three great-grandchildren, Kaylin, Aubrey, and William Atkison; along with numerous beloved nieces and nephews.

Betty will be reunited with her daughter, Penny Parish and grandson, Josh Parish who preceded her in death.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 05, 2024, from 1:15-2:00pm at Cotrell Willow Ridge Funeral & Cremation Services.
