Betty Jean Berry, 71, of Poplar Bluff, died Sunday, Jan. 7, 2007 at the Cedargate Care Center, in Poplar Bluff.
Mrs. Berry was born Aug. 19, 1935, in Clarkton, Mo. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Mrs. Berry began her banking career at the Bank of Poplar Bluff, which later became Mercantile Bank, retiring in 1991. She then went to work for the Federal Credit Union, retiring from there in 2004. Mrs. Berry enjoyed working crossword puzzles, gardening, knitting and crocheting.
On Dec. 23, 1955, she married Billy Berry, at the First United Methodist Church, in Poplar Bluff. He survives.
Other survivors include a son, Greg Berry and wife Lisa, of Bedford, Ind.; and a brother, Billy Dale Vineyard and wife Donna, of St. Louis.
Her parents, Upton and Lorena (Blakeney) Vineyard, and two brothers, Arwin Vineyard and Jerry Vineyard preceded her in death.
Visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m. Tuesday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel, in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel with the Rev. Jean Dicken officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Gardens Cemetery, in Poplar Bluff.
