Bernice L. Fears

Bernice L. Fears, 85, of Poplar Bluff, died Thursday, Aug. 3, 2006 at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Fears was born Sept. 5, 1920, in Piedmont. A homemaker, she was a retired Beautician and of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Fears enjoyed spending time with her family, playing cards, reading, cooking, and sewing.

Survivors include five children, Charles O. Fears, Jr., of Edwardsville, Ill., Dennis C. Fears, Barbara Sue Fears and Judy R. Garrett, all of Poplar Bluff and Sharon Ann Blair, of Thomasville, NC; 15 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Harold Bartch, of St. Charles and Norbert Bartch, of St. Ann.

Visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m. Saturday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel, in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, in the chapel with the Rev. Avon Raczkowski officiating. Burial will be at Sparkman Cemetery, in Butler County.
