Benjamin Franklin Ramsey, 59, of Edmond, Okla., died Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2007 at his residence.
Mr. Ramsey, son of the late Wyman and Audrey Mae (Allen) Ramsey, was born Aug. 2, 1948, in Broseley, Mo. He was of the non-denominational faith, and employed as a Geophysicist in the oil industry. Mr. Ramsey enjoyed spending time with his family especially his grandson, traveling, camping, hiking, and practicing his rifle and pistol marksmanship. He also found tremendous joy in learning. Mr. Ramsey was a veteran of the United States Army serving as a Combat Engineer with the 3rd Infantry Division during the Vietnam Era.
On Dec. 26, 1971, he married Carol Ann Schultz, in Poplar Bluff. She survives.
Other survivors include sons, Christopher David Ramsey, of Oklahoma City, Okla. and Daniel Neal Ramsey, of Edmond, Okla.; grandson, Britton Cade Ramsey; brothers, Dale Davis and wife Shirley, of Farmington and LaVern Davis and wife Faye, of Qulin; and half-brothers, Glen Ramsey, of St. Louis and Wyman Ramsey, Jr.
Visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m. Friday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel, in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the chapel, with the Rev. James R. Healy officiating. Burial with full military honors will be at Brown Chapel Cemetery, in Broseley.
