Audrey Earnest ""Penny"" Pennington, 88, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., died Thursday, Sept. 7, 2006 at the Oakdale Care Center, in Poplar Bluff.
Mr. Pennington was born Sept. 16, 1917, in the Lone Hill Community of Butler County, Mo. He was a member of Temple Baptist Church, in Poplar Bluff and retired after 33 years with the Texaco Oil Co, in Pampa, Tex. Mr. Pennington was also a World War II veteran of the United States Army.
On March 1, 1942, he married Lucille Irene Ward. They resided in Pampa, Tex. for 42 years. She preceded him in death on Aug. 30, 1984. On Aug. 10, 1985, he married Mary Lavina Hager. She survives.
Survivors include three children, Diana Patterson, of Denver City, Tex., Saundra Burns, of Amarillo, Tex., and Jerry Fuller, of Waxahachie, Tex.; two step-children, Patricia Hupp, of Naylor and John Hager, of New Jersey; 11 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Minnie Bell Baker, of Ironton.
Visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m. Saturday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel, in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, at the Temple Baptist Church with the Rev. Steve Patterson officiating. Burial will be at the Cochran Cemetery, in Butler County.
