Arthur "Pops" Lee Hopper

Arthur "Pops" Lee Hopper, 74, of Poplar Bluff, MO passed away on March 29, 2023 at John J. Pershing VA Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.

Pops was born on February 23, 1949 to Clarence and Edna (Settles) Hopper in Litchfield, Illinois.

Staff Sargent Arthur Lee Hopper made his career as a heavy machine mechanic in the U.S. Army, was in combat during the Vietnam War while receiving Marksman Qualification Badge, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with three Bronze Stars, and Vietnam Citation of Gallantry with Palm.

Pops was an avid fisherman, loved spending time with his grandchildren and grandpups. He will be missed by all his family and friends.

Pops is survived by the mother of their children; Jeanette Gross, one son; Lee Hopper, one daughter; Angel Hopper (Jason), 2 grandchildren; Brittany Hopper (Nathan) and Brett Brimberry, and 6 siblings; David, Ruthann, Rose, Jenny, Paul, and Lisa.

Pops was preceded in death by his parents, and 3 siblings; Mary, Mike, and Roger.

Inurnment will take place at Jefferson Barricks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO on April 7, 2023 at 10:00 am with full military honors.

A Celebration of Life, with lunch being served, will immediately follow at Post 5691 Collinsville Kahokian  1234 Vandalia St.   Collinsville, IL 62234-4059
