Arleva G. Mangrum, 75, of Poplar Bluff, died Monday, May 7, 2007 at Westwood Hills Healthcare Center, in Poplar Bluff.
Mrs. Mangrum was born Jan. 26, 1932, in Hoxie, Ark., to the late Charles H. and Sylvia Marie (Johnson) Smith. Prior to her retirement, she had worked as a cook at the Manor Nursing Home, Sniders IGA and Broadway Cafe. Mrs. Mangrum enjoyed working in her yard, working word puzzles and watching John Wayne movies.
Survivors include four daughters, Kay Moody, Debra Mangrum, Sharon Smith and Sue Gann, all of Poplar Bluff; two sons, Jimmy Bridges, of Qulin and Bobby Mangrum, of Poplar Bluff; 10 grandchildren, Nancy Warren, Shannon Lane, Travis Mangrum, Christina Elmer, Mindy Chotrow, Jennifer Bridges, Bobby Mangrum, Courtney Gann, Tre Taylor and Shelby Gann; 8 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Beatrice Smith, of Decatur, Tex. and Thurma Willard, of Bloomfield.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Mangrum was preceded in death by her brother, Layman Leroy Smith.
Visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m. Wednesday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel, in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in the chapel, with Pastor Vernon Sheets officiating. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, in Poplar Bluff.
