Alta Mae Metz, 89, of Poplar Bluff and a former resident of St. Louis, died Friday, Jan. 12, 2007, at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Metz was born June 29, 1917, in Greenville. She was of the Baptist faith and formerly served for 13 years as a cafeteria supervisor at Barnes Jewish Hospital, in St. Louis. Mrs. Metz enjoyed quilting.
She was married to Robert O. Carson. He preceded her in death on April 29, 1977. On July 9, 1979, she married Claude Metz, in Paragould, AR. He preceded her in death on May 6, 1995.
A sister Hazel Durrow, of Williamsville, survives Mrs. Metz.
Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel, in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel, with the Rev. Shelvie Stephens officiating. Burial will be at the City Cemetery.
