Alma Vivian (Gibson) Harris, 91, of Poplar Bluff, died Monday, Jan. 29, 2007 at the Oakdale Care Center, in Poplar Bluff.
Mrs. Harris was born Sept. 15, 1915, in Jonesboro, Ark. to the late Wid and Nora (Kirksey) Gibson. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene, and had retired from Caldwell's Cleaners. Mrs. Harris enjoyed her church, quilting and doing volunteer work.
On July 7, 1934, she married Edwin Lee Harris. He preceded her in death on Jan. 2, 1978.
Survivors include two sons Edwin W. Harris and wife Betty, of Poplar Bluff and Eldon D. Harris and wife Chris, of Bourbon, Mo.; four grandchildren, Denise Sauer and husband Don, David Harris, Rebecca Kaase and husband Kevin and Sheri Ward and husband Aub; 9 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; three sisters Julia Stevenson and Bobbie Armstrong, both of Jonesboro, Ark. and Joyce Mitchell and husband Calvin, of Searcy, Ark.; and two brothers Alvis Gibson and wife Evelyn and Burke Gibson and wife Katherine, all of Jonesboro, Ark.
Visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m. Tuesday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel, in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral chapel, with the Rev. Greg Gilberto officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Gardens Cemetery, in Poplar Bluff.
