Alma Maxine Griffin, 84, of Poplar Bluff, died Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2006 at the Cedargate Care Center, in Poplar Bluff.
Mrs. Griffin was born June 22, 1922, in Toledo, Illinois. She was a member of the Jesus Name Pentecostal Church and a homemaker. Mrs. Griffin was well known in her church and community and enjoyed spending time with her family, visiting with friends and quilting.
On May 5, 1940, she married Walter Griffin. He preceded her in death on March 11, 1974.
Survivors include 9 children, Mary Lou Francis, of St. Charles, Ill., Neoma L. Sandage, of Qulin, John W. Griffin, of Piedmont, Pearl I. Griffin, Cecil W. Griffin and Rita Jean Wilkes, all of Poplar Bluff, Bertha Mae Dillinger, of Harviell, Ruth Wells, of Clubb, and Charlie E. Griffin, of Naylor; 14 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
The visitation will be from 7 - 9 p.m. Friday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel, in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the Chapel, with the Rev. Bill Whelchel officiating. Burial will be at Brown Chapel Cemetery, in Broseley.
