Alfred Bryan Thornburg, 71, of Poplar Bluff died Friday, July 6, 2007 at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Thornburg was born Sept. 1, 1935, in Greenville. He was a member of Abundant Life Christian Center and a self employed auto mechanic. Mr. Thornburg was also a veteran of the United States Army National Guard; member of the Masonic Lodge; past member of the Poplar Bluff Shriners as well as a former Shrine Clown. He enjoyed tinkering with anything mechanical and watching gospel music programs on television.
On Sept. 18, 1976, he married Patricia Bryant, in Poplar Bluff. She preceded him in death on June 3, 2003.
Survivors include two children, Suzy Buchanan, of Gideon, and Alfred Thornburg, of Bloomfield; four step-children, Rick Farrin, of Albuquerque, NM, Randy Farrin, of Pocahontas, Ark., Ron Farrin and Robyn Covington, of Ft. Stewart, Ga.; 3 grandchildren, 9 step-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; three sisters, Berniece Wright, Linda Hackworth and Karen Johnson, all of Poplar Bluff; and two brothers, Crandall Thornburg and Bob Thornburg, all of Poplar Bluff.
