Addie Ice

Addie Ice, 92, of Poplar Bluff, died Friday, July 7, 2006 at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Ice was born May 25, 1914, in Chaonia to the late Daniel and Elmira (Mahan) Hicks. She was a member of the United Church of God and a homemaker. Mrs. Ice enjoyed spending time with her family, fishing, making quilts and gardening.

On Feb. 6, 1931, she was married to James Robert Ice, in Piggott, Ark. He survives. This year they celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary.

Other survivors include her daughter, Karen Jones and husband Gary, of Harviell; 3 sons, Robert Allen Ice and wife Claudia, James Gerald Ice and wife Brenda and Ronald Ice, all of Poplar Bluff; 9 grandchildren, Shelly Standerford, Terry Ice, Robert Ice, Sandra Ice, Jerry Ice, Roy Ice, Jeffrey Jones, Christal Boyd, and Chelsey Jones; 8 great-grandchildren, Sara Davis, Brad Davis, Robert Ice, Mercedes Ice, Tiffany Ice, Peyton Ice, Hannah Ice and James Boyd and one great-great-grandchild Ashton Ice.

A daughter, Bernice Ray preceded Mrs. Ice in death on March 30, 2001.

Visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m. Sunday at the Wappapello Cotrell Funeral Chapel. The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the Wappapello Chapel. Burial will be in the Little Brushy Cemetery, at Wappapello.
